A GIFT FOR THE BUSINESS LEADER WHO HAS NEARLY EVERYTHING

What do you give the business leader who has everything?

Well, nearly everything.

I meet many senior business people who appreciate the benefits that come from being perceived as a thought leader. They have extensive experience in their field, and a wealth of knowledge they want to share.

They understand that, quite apart from helping others at an earlier stage of their business journey, the chance to elevate yourself and your brand in this way has value in its own right.

What they also possess is answers. They have the ability to solve problems that people with less experience find insurmountable.

These guys have been there. They’ve sweated on that same issue, worked through it and emerged the other side stronger and more successful than ever.

The knowledge that going through that test granted them is, by definition, of great value to those on the other side of that challenging and apparently impenetrable brick wall.

What’s the only thing they don’t have? Time.

Don’t be deterred by the daunting blank page

Sitting down and writing your own thought leadership content is a task that can all too easily slip through the cracks in your diary.

All of a sudden, the allotted time for the writing has passed – and you haven’t written a single sentence.

I vividly remember meeting a business owner who had spent her weekend trying to write a 200-word description of her company’s activities only to end up with a page that was still as empty as it had been on the Friday night.

In the years since, I’ve met numerous other operators who have been defeated by the powerful force that is an empty piece of paper.

This is where an experienced writer comes in. Even better if that individual has a background in journalism and can assimilate a lot of information quickly.

You can spend less than half an hour telling such a person your story, the things you want to say, the detail that you know will help you to stand out from the crowd.

They then turn that conversation into content with impact, eloquence and authenticity. Put simply, your written thought leadership words need to sound like you.

Now, if you can raise your profile and your reputation in less than 30 minutes, isn’t that a worthwhile use of your time?

If you want help with your thought leadership content and positioning, or any other sort of copywriting or communications assistance, I’m standing ready to provide it.
